Sausage Breakfast Quiche

This is an excellent dish to have for breakfast, lunch, or even dinner! You can also adjust the type of sausage and cheese you use to make a variety of styles (See Notes). This dish is a great option for the "make ahead and freeze." I recommend cutting up the slices, wrap individually in plastic wrap, and then place in a freezer gallon ziplock bag.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Regular Sausage*

  • 9" Pie Crust**

  • 1 1/2 cups grated Swiss Cheese*

  • 2 tbsp chopped onion

  • 1 cup light cream

  • 4 eggs

  • Pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375

  2. Place piecrust in 9" pie dish

  3. Cook (and crumble) sausage and onion, drain

  4. Add cheese to sausage and onion, mix well, place in pie dish

  5. Lighly beat egg and cream, pour over mixture

  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes

  7. Enjoy!

*I've used the following sausage/cheese combinations: regular sausage and swiss cheese, maple sausage and swiss cheese, and hot Italian and Monterey Jack cheese.

**I use the Phillsbury Refridgerated Pie Crusts. They are premade and come 2 per pack.
